How to describe Barb: confident, results oriented, direct, fair, honest, loyal, determined, charismatic, caring, committed, reliable, professional and problem solver.
Barb has been in the professional search and recruitment industry for 28 years, and she has no plans to stop. With a career spanning from Washington, D.C. to Edmonton, Alberta, she worked for NRI Staffing and Harcourt Recruiting until establishing Perkins Professional Search.
Some Key Facts about her Career History and Achievements:
- Awarded Rookie of the Year, first year at NRI, #1 Performer in her office for 3 years consecutively, until her promotion to General Manager;
- As GM, Barb’s branch was recognized as the #1 office in production in their vertical for 8 years straight;
- Awarded Top Canadian Affiliate for NPA in 1997 with Harcourt Recruiting;
- In 1997, became Vice-President for Harcourt Recruiting;
- #1 Producer for 17 years for Harcourt Recruiting;
- Nominated and Awarded MVP in 2002 from ACSESS, Edmonton Chapter (Association of Canadian Search Employment and Staffing Services); and
- First Canadian accepted into the Pinnacle Society in 2007 and still a member in good standing.
In addition to continuously strengthening her professional status, Barb volunteers for numerous organizations in the City of Edmonton:
- Rotary Club of Edmonton-currently serving as Chair for The New Members Committee previously served on the Board of Directors and Chair of Social committee and Sergeant of Arms;
- EH3-Red Dress Committee;
- ACSESS (Association of Canadian Search Employment & Staffing Services), served as Vice President and Speaker’s Chair;
- Edmonton Insurance Association- Executive member;
- CIBC-Run for the Cure-Site Coordinator (6 years); and
- Run to Remember-Alzheimer Society, Site/Volunteer Coordinator (3 years);
- Insurance Institute of Northern Alberta currently serving as Chair of External Communications.
