Our founder and President, Barb Perkins, entered the world of recruitment, starting with National Resources Inc. (NRI.) in Washington D.C. She was awarded “Rookie of the Year” in her first year; that was a pivotal moment for her, she knew she had found her passion! Her journey had begun. She was with NRI for over 8 years and promoted to General Manager after 3 years. Her branch was recognized as the #1 office in production, consistently, for their area of specialization.

In 1992, Barb relocated to Edmonton for personal reasons and joined Harcourt Recruiting Specialists. She was appointed Vice President in 1997, and was the top producer for 17 years consecutively. She achieved this by focusing on developing long-term business relationships and nurturing these relationships through the years. She prides herself in being resourceful and committed to her clients. After 17 years, she realized that she wanted one more achievement in her career; she wanted to be a proud business owner. Not afraid of challenge, she took the leap!

She formed Perkins Professional Search, a premier boutique search firm that exclusively focuses in 2 specific niches: Insurance and Accounting. Our core concentration is permanent, contingency or retained searches. PPS is here to satisfy the needs of our customers and we are built on a foundation of professionalism. Our intention is to help facilitate a candidate’s journey, while providing strategic solution for our clients.
